Reinforcement and retrofit of Changshu power plant wharf by CFRP fabric

Based on the analysis of the original structure system of Changshu wharf and the natural conditions of water level, water flow and geology, the designer formulated a scientific and reasonable reinforcement scheme. In order to improve the bearing capacity of the wharf, some parts are reinforced by CFRP.

Engineering survey

The coal terminal project of Changshu Power Plant in Suzhou Port is located on the right bank of Xuliujing Reach in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, about 0.5 km away from the Xuliujing Estuary. The waterway is about 30km from Nantong port and about 70km from Wusong port. The berth length is 272.24m and the width is 27.6m, which is a high pile beam slab structure.


The size and function of the original wharf remain unchanged. The wharf structure of the 35,000-ton berth of the coal wharf is reinforced and reformed according to the full-load bulk carrier berthing 50,000-ton.

Material selection

Carbon fiber cloth and impregnation adhesive used for reinforcing CFRP are all from Shanghai Horse Construction.
